Eastland, backed by QIC’s commitment to community and employee development, is a beacon of support for local businesses, women-led initiatives, and inclusive community programs. Together with QIC, Eastland continuously works to create meaningful opportunities for growth and empowerment.

Community partnerships are essential at Eastland because they want to create meaningful impacts and foster long-term growth. By engaging with local organisations, together they can address shared goals, support local needs, and contribute to the community's overall wellbeing. Some key community partnerships Eastland have are with;

  • Eastern Football Netball League
  • Ringwood Hawks Basketball
  • St Johns Victoria
  • Eastern Health
  • Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place
  • Communities of Wellbeing
  • Friendology at Maroondah Schools

A vital part of this mission is Eastland’s long-standing partnership with Glen Park Community Centre, which has yielded impactful initiatives, from a highly successful food relief program, recognised as Maroondah City Council’s Community Event of the Year, to numerous education and wellbeing programs for community members to even opening a first ever Social Enterprise café inside a shopping centre. Such programs demonstrate Eastland’s commitment to directly addressing community needs, contributing to social stability and resilience.

QIC’s dedication to building an inclusive workplace complements Eastland’s focus. With employee-driven networks like the Balance Network, they aim to achieve gender equality and work-life balance across all levels. By celebrating International Women’s Day, Equal Pay Day, and the International Day of the Girl Child, the Balance Network fosters a supportive environment where women are encouraged to reach their potential. The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Wellbeing (DEI&W) Working Group is another crucial part of QIC’s strategy, working to ensure an equitable workplace that values wellness and diversity.

As part of QIC, Eastland prioritises employee development through initiatives like the 500 Women in Property program, sponsored by the Property Council’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committees. This program provides career-building sponsorship for women, accelerating their path to leadership. Eastland is proud to have had three women selected for this program, including Senior Community Relations Manager Jodie Murphy, who is part of this year’s alumni.

These initiatives underscore QIC and Eastland’s shared vision to promote women in business, create pathways for career advancement, and foster an environment where every team member can thrive. Together, Eastland and QIC’s programs drive a collective effort to build a community-focused, inclusive future, where local businesses and individuals are supported and celebrated at every stage of their journey.
