Be Kind to Business Maroondah
Council's Be Kind Maroondah campaign continues to uncover stories of positivity and hope.
With businesses doing it tough during the current restrictions, a key element of the campaign is encouraging the community to ‘Be Kind to Business’ and support their local traders and shopping centres.
Maroondah Funding Finder
Council has launched the Maroondah Funding Finder, which shares a comprehensive list of grant and funding opportunities currently available. This free service is available to all local businesses, which means that you will never miss a grant opportunity again.
With more than 1,102 grants worth $170.3 billion available, make sure to utilise this new service and discover if your business is eligible for these funding opportunities.
If you’re in the hospitality industry and want clarification about your responsibilities whilst trading during the current restrictions, contact Council’s Community Health team on 9294 5603 or email for additional food safety advice.
Working from home health and wellbeing
With hundreds of Maroondah businesses operating from home in some capacity, BizHub Maroondah, in partnership with Maroondah Leisure, has developed the health and wellbeing video series, ‘Deskercise’ as a means of promoting health and fitness.
Watch the latest Deskercise videos via Council's Youtube channel.
'We're still here for you' business stickers
‘We’re still here for you’ stickers have also been made available for Maroondah businesses to display in their shop windows, letting customers know that they are still open. These have been a popular, easy method to allow businesses to stay in touch with customers.
Complete a sticker request form to start telling your customers you're still there for them!
Bayswater Business Precinct (BBP)
Bayswater Business Precinct (BBP) is a thriving business and employment community that’s home to 5,000 businesses and which supports more than 30,000 local jobs.
BizHub Maroondah, in partnership with Knox and Yarra Ranges councils, has expanded the reach of the Bayswater Business Precinct's digital platform BBP Connect from 4,800 to 34,000 businesses across the three Local Government areas in a bid to increase business to business engagement and stimulate business activity and supply chain expansion.
Maroondah, Knox and Yarra Ranges councils, with their delivery partner, Localised, are proud to have recently launched BBP Jobs. This new employment tool is designed to connect local jobseekers with local employers. The platform matches local employment skills with local job opportunities.
ASBAS Business Resilience program
BizHub has supported its delivery partners Melbourne Innovation Centre and the Australian Small Business Advisory Service to create the ASBAS Business Resilience program for small businesses suffering the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. The program includes free access to virtual mentoring, online workshops, and resources.
Keeping businesses informed

Footpath decals in local shopping centres
Council has been installing footpath decals in local shopping centres to thank customers for shopping locally and to reinforce current social distancing guidelines. The decals are a visual reminder to the community to maintain a 1.5 metre distance from others.
Maroondah’s plan for economic recovery
Maroondah City Council has also been working directly with local businesses to ensure that Maroondah’s plans for economic recovery incorporate insights from local businesses to specifically tailor recovery initiatives to their needs.
