Congratulations to the winners of this year’s 2022 Maroondah Business Excellence Awards.

The judging and selection process incorporated a series of assessments for each business as they progressed through the awards process to determine the outstanding business in each category.

Judging was undertaken by a panel of independent experts bringing with them a wealth of experience as they put businesses through their paces over several stages of the awards process.

Detailed submissions, preliminary and further in-depth interviews, site visits, evaluation and considered deliberation by the judges were all part of the process in determining finalists and category winners.

Congratulations to the following Winners of the 2022 Maroondah Business Excellence Awards. 

Innovation and Technology Award - Braille Tactile Signs (Aust)

Braille Tactile Signs is a family business, specialising in wayfinding signage for people who are blind or have low vision levels. The BTS (Aust) product is designed and built to outperform; offering a durable, compliant, and aesthetically pleasing sign that can be kept hygienically clean. Proudly Australian made, they value their corporate social responsibility and uphold their reputation for service, quality, compliance, and reliability.

The judges were extremely impressed with Braille Tactile Signs, who demonstrated true product innovation from the technology used to protect the product from weathering, through to the tailored software system that adds value to business operations.

Construction, Trades and related Supply Chain Award - Coy’s Constructions

The Coy’s Constructions team is passionate about providing an excellent building experience to their clients. They understand the importance of energy efficiency, not only now but for future generations. Their mission is to deliver what they promise - high quality, energy efficient homes on time, and on budget.

The judges congratulated Coy’s Construction on automating many of their processes to achieve high-quality outcomes and their innovative on-the-job staff training program.

Service Excellence - The True Fairies Company

Comprising a team of 20 dedicated women with a mission to support local performers and artists, The True Fairies Company brings joy and adventure to the community.

They have a large family fan base (of the 3 to 10 year old variety) and create magic for young and old from their performance-based venue in Croydon. Like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, they will totally immerse you in a magical paradise, while spoiling parents with first class hospitality,  personalised and customised service.

The judges commended The True Fairies Company for their unwavering commitment to delivering a truly magical experience to clients of all ages. The True Fairies business model is both unique and engaging - for children and their parents.

Environmental Sustainability Award - Total Solar Solutions

Established in 2012, Total Solar Solutions Australia has grown into one of Victoria’s most trusted names in solar due to their strong customer focus and as providers of quality products. Their mission is to provide Victorian families with the highest quality products available in Australia. They have a strong emphasis on good workmanship and great customer service and support.

The judges commended that they had shown passion and commitment to sustainability of their product, and in decision making and business operations. 

Retail and Hospitality - Your Very Best

Your Very Best Skin, Beauty and Massage Salon has been an integral part of the Heathmont community for more than 17 years. Inside a lovely old building exists an ultra-modern approach to Beauty Therapies, Health and Wellness. 

Owners Jeff and Shelley Moredock opened Your Very Best with the intention of providing great service, cutting edge treatments and a customer experience that always exceeds expectations. 

The Your Very Best team are a group of awardwinning therapists who love to look after the greater Maroondah community.

The judges commended Your Very Best for their comprehensive staff induction program and adherence to high service standards for all staff. Their focus on staff wellbeing, flows through to their clients - their commitment to providing service excellence is commendable.

Business of the Year - Coy’s Construction

The Maroondah Business Excellence Awards Business of the Year has been awarded to Coy’s Construction 

In a difficult industry that requires significant planning and consideration of many competing factors, Coy’s Construction has automated many of their processes to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Coy’s Constructions impressed the judges with their long-term vision for passive homes for the future is very impressive. The company’s commitment to energy efficient homes which are healthier and more comfortable for occupants contributed to them being selected as Business of the Year.
